In fact, the twisting of the wire rope is caused by abnormal lifting height. Generally speaking, the wire rope is constantly wound and loosened during lifting, and the pressure on the wire rope is constantly increasing, slowly lifting the heavy object. However, the lifting height of the wire rope should not be too high, otherwise the rotational internal force of the wire rope will gradually accumulate, causing the wire rope to rotate, and causing the multiple wire ropes connected to it to entangle with each other, forming a "twisted" state.

For cranes with low lifting heights, due to the continuous winding and relaxation of the wire rope, this stress is released periodically and will not cause serious impact on the heavy objects. However, if the lifting height is too high, the rotational internal force of the wire rope will gradually accumulate. When it reaches a certain height strength, the wire rope will rotate. Since the upper end of the wire rope is wound on the drum, the rotation will drive the hook below to rotate in the air and make the multiple strands of wire rope connected to it entangled with each other, which is commonly known as the "twisted twist" phenomenon.
