Do you know how wire ropes are classified?

Steel Wire ropes are usually classified according to the material of the steel wire, the surface state, the twisting method and the purpose of the
Steel Wire Rope. So today, let's follow the editor to learn about the steel wire ropes in the first two classification methods.
First, it is classified according to the material. Steel wire ropes are divided into carbon steel wire ropes and stainless steel wire ropes. The former is mainly twisted with steel wires with good carbon structure as raw materials; the latter
Stainless Steel Wire Rope is twisted with stainless steel wire.
Secondly, it is classified according to the surface state of the steel
Wire Rope. This classification is divided into four types, including phosphating coated steel wire rope, galvanized steel wire rope, plastic coated steel wire rope and smooth steel wire rope. Phosphating coated steel wire rope is also called phosphating steel wire rope. This kind of steel wire rope cannot be processed by cold drawing before twisting, but directly twisted into strands, steel cores and steel wire ropes. The phosphating film on the surface can improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the surface of the steel wire used for rope making.
Galvanized steel wire rope includes two methods: hot-dip galvanizing and electrogalvanizing. In simple terms, the protection of the steel wire by the galvanized layer is positive protection. The thicker the galvanized layer on the surface, the stronger the anti-corrosion ability. Plastic-coated steel wire rope is a steel wire rope with a certain thickness of plastic on the outer surface or the surface layer of the strand. Smooth steel wire rope requires heat treatment and surface preparation of the raw materials before cold drawing to obtain rope-making steel wire. The steel wire does not need any surface treatment to be directly twisted into strand rope, steel core and steel wire rope.
